Dr. Charles Hattermer, MD

Dr. Hattemer has served as Professor of Internal Medicine at the College of Medicine since October 2014 as well as Director of the UC Health Clinical Cardiology Service. Previously, he was Director of the Mercy Hospital Anderson Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory (2011 to 2013) and Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory and Director of the Division of Cardiology at Christ Hospital (2003 to 2011). Dr. Hattemer was a Chief Resident in Internal Medicine and then a member of the UC faculty from 1993 until 2001. He served as Director of the UC Cardiac Care Unit (1994 to 2001) and Director of the UC Cardiology Fellowship Training Program (1998 to 2000).
Dr. Hattemer completed his undergraduate education at Harvard University and received his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. He worked in research at the Harvard School of Public Health before completing his internship and residency at UC. He also completed a fellowship in clinical cardiology at UC.
